Pesticide Performance Enhancer 

Manufactured by Cheltec, Inc., CT-301™ is a proprietary acidic sulfate penetrant compound that is a chelate, an acidifier, and also contains a small percentage of ammoniacal nitrogen. This combination enhances herbicide performance by adjusting water hardness, chelating/sequestering metallic ions, and improving intake of the herbicide’s active ingredient in many plant species.

                                                 GENERAL INFORMATION

CT-301™ Pesticide Performance Enhancer is a penetrant that effectively traps
herbicidal ions within the plant by breaking through the waxy cuticle and            
lowering the plant’s internal pH; causing the plant to “shut down”, which traps            
the ion. The additional combination of the chelation and acidifying properties in           
this product further improves herbicide performance by adjusting water             
hardness and chelating metallic ions, while its ammoniacal nitrogen component               
is widely recognized as an effective enhancer of herbicide intake in many plant
species.

Although the effect of pH varies, as a general rule many pesticides are most
effective when the spray solution is at a pH of about 5.0. CT-301™ has the          
ability to provide this ideal pH level through its exceptional buffering         
characteristics. 

Our recommendations for using CT-301™ are based both on extensive testing by agricultural universities as well as in-house and customer field trials. The recommended test methods from the university studies included utilizing 50% of a herbicide’s label rate in order to establish the actual effectiveness of CT-301™. The results from this work proved that CT-301™ was effective at all tested reduction rates, which establishes this product as a true enhancement agent for herbicides such as glyphosate, diquat, MSMA, S-metolachlor, 4-D, and other herbicides compatible with low pH (acid) conditions.

CT-301™'s  real-world benefits from label-rate spray applications include both consistently better overall effectiveness on standard plant species as well as increased levels of control for “impossible” weed species; including those situations where decreased herbicide effectiveness and/or weed resistance has resulted from long-term/exclusive active ingredient usage.  Our customers describe CT-301™ as an “insurance policy” for their herbicide applications and depend on its unique effectiveness as a valuable addition to their treatment formulas.
